5106R/5107R/5108R YUM updates
YUM updates for BlueOnyx 5106R, 5107R and 5108R have been released today.
The following YUM updates have just been released:
base-swupdate (5106R, 5107R + 5108R):
The language files for this module have been updated with a Japanese translation provided by Eiji Hamano. Many thanks! Additionally: On EL6 based systems (5107R and 5108R) this updated module disables built in YUM-Update cronjob, as this module brings its own (GUI configureable) cronjob aboard for the same purpose. No need to run YUM-Update twice a day.
base-disk (5106R, 5107R + 5108R):
The "Active Monitor" component of base-disk was still sending emails notifications via the internal Sausalito mail function, which often generates ill formatted emails. So the mail function of this module was switched to the Perl module MIME::Lite as well, as we had already done with the Swatch module in the past.
base-email (5106R, 5107R + 5108R):
After adding/removing users Sendmail didn't get restarted properly. An update to this module should now have fixed that problem.
swatch (5106R, 5107R + 5108R):
"Active Monitor" uses MIME::Lite to send emails about system events. However, MIME::Lite itself cannot send emails in Japanese encoding. For that we would need MIME::Lite::TT:Japanese. And a hell of a lot of supporting dependencies. We will eventually get there, so that "Active Monitor" emails are again being sent in all supported languages - including Japanese. This update brings us a bit closer to that point, but not yet all the way.
base-apache (5107R + 5108R):
Generally we want to disclose as little OS related info via the Apache identification string as possible. This update again sets ServerTokens in httpd.conf to reveal very little info (i.e.: just 'Apache').
base-blueonyx (5107R + 5108R):
Contains mostly some code cleanups to deal with building and installing this module.
